If you like rice and want to have every day. There are lots of ways that you can use to make your rice more healthy, colorful, and flavorful.
Recently, I made beetroot rice which looks so yummy and the tastes are, even more, yummy. In the recipe, I have used 1/2 beetroot and there stem to give my rice natural orange color. If you want to make rice red you can increase the quantity of beetroot.
Making this dish is so easy, first, peeled and chopped the beetroot and boil for a few minutes. Then drain the water and cook rice in that water and it’s done. After making the rice you can also use the boiled beetroot to make a beetroot stir fry or beetroot salad. I have served this colorful rice with chickpea salad but it can be also served with any curry/soup/daal.

Prep. time: 2 minutes Cooking time: 25 minutes Serve: 2
- Beetroot: ½chopped
- Water: 2 ½ cups
- Rice: 1 cup
Let’s begin: How to make Beetroot rice with steps by steps photos
- Peeled and chopped the beetroot and the stem.
- Boil them for about 5 minutes on medium flame.
- Turn off the flame and drain the beetroot from the water.
- Now, add the rice in the colored water and cook until rice is fully cooked.
Note: If you find the rice is fully cooked and there is some water left, you can drain the water.
- Now, the beetroot rice is done. Turn off the flame and serve it hot.
Serve Beetroot rice with salad/curry/daal.
